I'm Admitted! What's Next?

Once you are admitted to the graduate certificate program you will be contacted by the graduate school. Distance Education will send you the get started information below. This may take several days. Do not "get started" until you receive the emails referenced above. Once you get your App State email, please contact Dr. Taylor at taylorjs@appstate.edu. She will sign you up for the program advising site on ASULEARN (MST Grad Cert). All of the information you need during the program can be found there, as well as a place to ask questions of faculty and peers.

Check ASU Email

  • Provided via gmail.com
  • Faculty and staff are required to communicate to enrolled students via your appstate.edu addresses. 
  • Please check your ASU email often or set up a forwarding client to your preferred account.

Schedule

Your program is: Online Middle & Secondary Teaching (Certificate)

  1. Visit online.appstate.edu
  2. Click on the schedule link
  3. Click Graduate Schedule
  4. Select your program
  5. Find the courses designated for your track or start term*
  6. Note the CRN # for each course

*If you are unsure, consult Dr. Taylor

Register Via Appalnet

  1. Log in
  2. Click Self Service
  3. Click Student
  4. Click Registration
  5. Drop/Add Classes
  6. Enter the CRN #s for each course
  7. Click Submit Changes

Textbooks 

  • Textbook search here, through bookstore.appstate.edu
  • Some instructors may share textbook info by
    • Emailing you directly
    • Posting in AsULearn
  • Questions? Email your instructor. 

Course Access

  • Your instructor will email you course specifics.
  • Course portals may not appear until the first class date.
  • If you haven't gotten an email about course access by the week prior to the first class, email Dr. Taylor.
